THE NATIONAL COLLEGE FOR ADVANCED TRANSPORT & INFRASTRUCTURE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE HIGHLY SKILLED TECHNICIANS, PROJECT MANAGERS AND APPRENTICES TO LEAD THE UK’S RAIL, TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURE SECTORS.
We are dedicated to producing a new generation of highly skilled professionals to lead the UK’s future rail, transport and infrastructure workforce.
Relaunched in May 2021, we joined the University of Birmingham group and. We have new leadership and an exciting and ambitious vision for the future.
At state-of-the-art campuses in Birmingham and Doncaster, there will be an expanded curriculum. We are bringing on board new education partners and industry collaborators to provide a lifelong learning opportunity supported by railway, transport and infrastructure qualifications and competencies.
As part of the University of Birmingham group, we will benefit from the University’s widely recognised rail expertise and sector partners to help tackle the UK skills gap.

The National College for Advanced Transport & Infrastructure offers a range of courses and professionally accredited programmes, all developed with industry employers and specialists, and taught by the best in the business. Whatever your interest, your curriculum has been designed to set new standards in technical training. It will also give you the exact skills and real-world project experience you need to be in a prime position to start work when you finish your course.
You’ll build your core skills with introductory units on rail, engineering and management. Then you pick your specialist subject, like digital railway systems, or track engineering, and train utilising the technologies of the future.
