Electrification

Established in partnership with industry-leaders Alstom and Babcock, ABC Electrification Limited is one of just three firms to be awarded a Network Rail National Electrification Programme (NEP) contract. Its team brings expertise and a collaborative approach to electrification delivery.

In November 2023, work by Costain Group PLC ensured that London Gatwick Airport’s upgraded station could enter into service. During this four-and-a half-year project, the infrastructure specialist delivered:

• Planning and design stages.
• Subsequent improvement works (including staff accommodation and a new concourse).

Costain Group PLC helped to create a behavioural change management programme for Network Rail, supporting its goal to get “Everyone Home Safely Every Day.” This involved:

• A listening exercise, during which 643 shared information about the safety challenges they faced each day.
• 69 sessions, which enabled to team to capture a range of perspectives from senior leaders, frontline employees, and teams.
• The development of a behavioural change programme, which has improved safety (and, in the case of one leader, an 80 per cent in team communication about internal incident management.)
