Family-run and privately owned, Jewers Doors Limited specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of industrial doors. Its product range includes the Swift-SEW industrial door, which was developed for rolling stock entrances on maintenance depots and stabling halls.

Founded in 1983, Jewers Doors Limited now boasts a 5,000 square metre factory and 60-strong team. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, from design and manufacture to door surveys and consultancy.

Suitable for both heavy and light rail, its Swift-SEW doors are bi-folding and side-hung. They can open and close safely around overhead line equipment, as well as folding across rail tracks without a bottom guide channel in the threshold. Features include:

• Operation via powerful, centrally mounted SEW drive unit and purpose-designed PLC control panel, complete with inverter control. This ensures smooth operation and allows doors to open/close in under eight seconds.
• Spare I/Os for integration with existing systems.
• Pressure-sensitive, full-height safety edges and photocell beams, which create a safe zone around the door when it is operational.
• Cut out for OLE system cable, lined with safety matting.
• Electro-mechanical locks in drive unit, allowing door to be automatically held in closed position.
• Optional automatic solenoid floor bolts for additional security/wind protection.
