Its multi-disciplined team supports property, track, civils, drainage, and geotechnical projects across the UK. With full design and build capabilities, this team can provide services ranging from project management and engineering, to waterproofing and track delivery.

What Story Contracting Ltd does in rail:

Structures: drawing on extensive experience, the team refurbishes and repairs everything from overbridges and underbridges to footbridges and structure infills. It can also carry out steelwork projects – including repairs, preparation, re-painting, and associated ancillary works.

Track: Story Contracting Ltd delivers all kinds of permanent way, including plain line, S&C, and slab, track, and embedded crane rails. With an experienced team and in-house plant, it can undertake everything from planning to handback work.

Earthworks: offering a full design and build service, the team can deliver earthwork regrades, rock and soil cuttings, drainage, piling, ballast retention and retaining walls.

Property: Story Contracting Ltd has experience in delivering station refurbishment works, footbridge refurbishments, Access for All scheme projects, and platform refurbishment and extensions.

Story Plant

Available to hire anywhere in the UK, Story Plant’s fleet is suitable for the most complex rail projects. The fleet comprises:

Machines: cranes, wheeled, tracked, MEWP.

Road Rail: including Colmar T10000 Road Rail Crane, Manitou ART17TH, and Liebherr R920 tracked RRV.

General plant: including JCB 65R-1 excavator and Takeuchi TB250 mini excavator.

Transport: HIAB with trailer, low loader, and six-wheeler clamshell utility wagon with trailer. 

Attachments: SB60 hydraulic sleeper changer, de-clipper, auger, and tube cube.
