Thomas Brown Engineering Ltd is a subcontract, precision machining company that manufactures precision made components to the highest standards and are approved to quality standards ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D.
We specialise in high precision CNC turning and CNC milling, offering the rail industry a complete and bespoke precision component manufacturing service from conception to completion.
Thomas Brown Engineering was established in 1982 by Tom Brown, who is still our Managing Director today. We are an independent, family run company that is proud to deliver the very best British made, precision engineering.

Precision Machining
Precision CNC machining is what we do here, working with you to identify your precision machining requirement and delivering on your requirement.
We have a reputation for quality and reliability as our expertise, facilities and capabilities mean that we can deliver a comprehensive precision machining service across the UK. We can manufacture parts in materials including stainless steel, aluminium, cast alloys, plastics and exotics. With component parts produced either on an individual order basis, as a scheduled delivery or as a Kan-Ban system. We can supply parts as assemblies, delivered direct to your production line and eliminating your inspection and stocking costs.

An important part of our mission is to deliver “trusted technical support,” alongside our components. All of our customers rate our technical support as excellent or good (according to our 2020 customer satisfaction survey) and are safe in the knowledge that their projects are well managed by our highly skilled staff.
The technical and quotations department is here to solve your technical issues and develop cost efficient strategies to meet project requirements. Producing full working drawings on Inventor software to your requirements. Our team works closely with our production department to formulate and offer solutions that achieve maximum cost effectiveness in the production of precision components.
Inspection and Quality
Quality is central to everything we do and everyone is responsible for ensuring our service and manufactured parts are of the quality our customers expect.
We have a dedicated inspection department, led by our Head of Quality, Kris, and all of our team is trained to ensure that we adhere to our quality standards AS9100 rev D and ISO9001:2015.
