Civils

We have expertise and experience in the rail sector, with work covering all Network Rail territories, London Underground and London Overground.

Surveys – engineers scoping the Geotechnical investigation requirements and reviewing the factual and interpretative reports before proposing the optimum foundation system for the ground conditions.

Design – a track record of successful rail/civil engineering projects. Attention to detail and rapid reaction to emergency works. Our expertise covers design of foundations, basement boxes, culverts and earthworks, rehabilitation of existing structures, retaining walls, earth reinforced, gabion and gravity walls, concrete and sheet piled walls.

Multi-Disciplinary Design – enabling us to act as a single point of contact /lead designers for building services, telecommunications, OLE, track and signals services, as well as architecture, civil and structural engineering.

Advisory Services

Asset management – defining and implementing an approach to managing physical assets to help organisations to achieve a maximum asset value. Helping you strike the right balance between cost optimisation, risk reduction and performance improvement.

Project management – acting as a single point of contact for building services, telecommunications, OLE, track and signals services, architecture, civil and structural engineering. Our lead designers are skilled at integrating multiple disciplines to optimise design with the use of BIM tools.

Stakeholder management – CEM and CRE – we act in these design roles, employed by national contractors to undertake this role and provide site support to ensure the design is implemented on site.

Bridges

Inspections – targeted site investigations, asset specific material testing and desktop assessment and complex elemental back analysis.

Assessments – undertaking structural assessment of rail and foot bridges of differing construction materials including masonry, steel and concrete).

Design – bridge design from Minor Works through major Strengthening to Reconstructions.

Examinations And Inspections

Examinations – holistic, coordinated and efficient ways to deliver any asset examinations with minimal disruption to the live environment.

Inspection For Assessment (IFA) – prior to each site attendance a review of archive drawings, previous assessment and current condition is undertaken to establish examination needs.

Emergency response – examiners and engineers who are accustomed to working in safety critical environments.

Geotechnical

Large scale projects within the UK including HS2 and Thames Tideway, with an experienced geotechnical team guaranteed to deliver engineering excellence.

Earthwork rehabilitation – inclusive of provision and management of rehabilitation solutions for the Victorian infrastructure at the heart of the UK’s water and waste management system. Undertaking settlement analysis and assessing topography, geology and geotechnical factors.

Trenchless technology – our Trenchless Technology Design experience includes micro-tunnelling, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), auger boring and other methods of below the ground installation of pipelines and cables with minimal excavation.

Tunnelling – successfully delivering projects of varied complexity and cost, with experience including devising plans for tunnelling practices including shaft sinking, underpinning and caisson methods, pipe jacking, auger boring, directional drilling and micro-tunnelling.

Structures

Commercial – design and delivery of high rise commercial buildings and refurbishment of existing structures for large mixed-use developments.

Residential – from small domestic works, to larger developments using a range of structural materials and techniques.

Retail – from new development scheme or refurbishment and alteration works to commercial outlets.
